WaveLab 13 introduces Dolby Atmos mastering, with intuitive tools for ADM file editing, loudness control, and album assembly. New plug-ins like MasterRig 2 and Vocal Chain expand creative possibilities, while multicore rendering and streamlined editing features ensure faster, more efficient production for immersive and stereo projects alike.
WaveLab Pro introduces an advanced yet intuitive workflow for Dolby Atmos mastering, which makes immersive audio production simple and efficient. The Master montage streamlines importing and editing ADM files, applying plug-in processing across all tracks, normalizing loudness and re-rendering, while preserving object spatial information. The Album montage allows you to combine multiple ADM files effortlessly into one cohesive project, while maintaining consistency across an entire album. The future of mastering starts with WaveLab, combining exceptional precision with a user-friendly design for efficient, high-quality Dolby Atmos mastering.
Importing an ADM file
Supporting ADM files at 48 kHz and 96 kHz, you can import a file by drag and drop directly into a new workspace — from WaveLab’s file browser or the new Dolby Atmos tab in the Startup Assistant. Once imported, a dialog appears in which track names have been used to group objects into stereo pairs (for example, Guitar L/ Guitar R) — leaving you to confirm the default mapping or make appropriate adjustments, such as renaming tracks, changing their colors, or manually regrouping objects.
Renderer for Dolby Atmos
The Renderer for Dolby Atmos plug-in provides playback and mixdown of an Atmos Mastering Montage to any supported channel configuration, including binaural. Inserted in the last processing slot of the Inspector’s Output Effects area, the Renderer includes a customizable 3D view to visualize object movement within a 3D space during playback. This allows you to match the physical design of the studio you are working in! It includes up to 128 audio level meters, a powerful channel list (search, sort, group, mute/solo) and supports editing of binaural render modes.
