The D.W. Fearn VT-7 is a versatile mastering and mix bus compressor unit that effortlessly combines vintage sounds and tradition with modern innovation and design. As with all D.W. Fearn products, the VT-7 is meticulously crafted to bring out the best of your mixes, whether that be via subtle dynamic touches or rich sonic polish.
VACUUM TUBE COMPRESSION FOR MIXING AND MASTERING
Boasting an all-Class A vacuum tube audio path, the VT-7 offers the distinctive warmth and feel of classic vacuum tube compressors without depending on obsolete tube manufacturing. But what sets the VT-7 apart from other vacuum tube compressors is the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control circuitry, an analog solid-state design that complements the vintage-style tube tones with modern versatility and responsiveness.
PERFECT FOR SINGLE TRACKS TO FULL STEREO MIXES
At just the flip of a switch, the VT-7 can function independently or be seamlessly linked for a stereo experience. Additionally, the unique Link HPF mode inserts a high-pass filter into the side chain, which instantly enhances bass-heavy mixes and balances your frequency range. The unit’s intuitive controls for Threshold, Gain, Attack, Release, and Harder/Softer let you dial in your sound with ease, while the VU meters, switchable between gain reduction and output level, provide a visual guide through your audio journey.
