The D.W. Fearn VT-5 Stereo Vacuum Tube Equalizer is a dual-channel version of the acclaimed VT-4, offering a wide range of sonic control for stereo sources. Whether it be subtle fine-tuning or more aggressive transformations, the VT-5 gives you exactly what you need to bring your sonic ambitions to life.
PREMIUM COMPONENTS
Loaded with Class A triode vacuum tube stages for the input and output, the VT-5’s passive LC circuitry is derived from the VT-1 VT-2 mic preamp designs. Like those preamps, the VT-5 also uses custom-made Jensen transformers to boost and balance signals as low as -10dB. The result is a flexible sonic profile that’s smooth, sweet, and never harsh even at more aggressive levels.
VERSATILE FREQUENCY CONTROL
The VT-5 sports an intuitive control scheme featuring tactile, vintage-style rotary switches with 1% metal-film resistors. Most notably, the range and shape of the frequencies and curves were determined by ear via extensive hours of listening and fine-tuning, making for an exceptionally musical equalizer that will effortlessly bring out the best qualities of your signal.
