The SC305

The SC305 was carefully designed to be equally comfortable and precise in a stereo or surround set up and works perfectly as a center channel.
This nearfield monitor combines the power from three different amplifiers to deliver a very efficient, dynamic and low noise sound reproduction. Our three-way systems are not only developed for critical and detailed listening but also to deliver power and thunderous bass.

Even distribution of the frequencies

Our three-way systems are designed around the concept to distribute the frequencies properly between all individual components and raise the efficiency of your speakers effectively.

With the SC305 one of the woofers is delivering sound only up to 350 Hz, functioning as a kind of "bass woofer". The other woofer gives you a fuller range up to the 3000 Hz crossover frequency as a bass-midrange driver.

This means less effective physical work being made by each individual woofer, which in turn will result in less mechanical inertia and a more efficient sound transmission. Both woofers consist of our proprietary 5" SilverCone, the same that is used in the smaller SC205 model and features our sophisticated low distortion copper cap magnet system. However, due to the fact that two of these woofers are being used simultaneously, you get a bigger frequency response - down to 50 Hz.

More than just a speaker
The sound enjoys the spotlight, but our monitors offer a holistic solution that is well thought out from A to Z

A whole system

The SC305 also makes use of the proprietary AMT RS3 tweeter, which uses a bigger front plate and a bigger internal magnet to drive the AMT tweeter with greater efficiency.

The three 50 W PWM power amplifiers won't leave you lacking any power either. All in all, the SC305 will probably be regarded as the single most detailed three-way monitor speaker in the market for its specific size and price range.

And no worries determining how to place the SC305 in your room or studio properly. Our DSP section will assist you in choosing the speaker for left and right hand side. So you will always get proper symmetry between your speakers, instead of having to move them around as usual. With a DIP switch, located on rear of the speakers these settings for room adaption can be temporarly locked.

As with every other EVE Audio speaker, you get both balanced XLR inputs and unbalanced RCA inputs for greater convenience.

The Air Motion Transformer
We reinvented our own version of the ribbon tweeter technology which our speakers are well known for.

Understanding the Air Motion Transformer

The Air Motion Transformer (AMT) is a unique driver technology, distinct from other audio drivers. It utilizes a lightweight, hand-folded diaphragm that is thinly coated with aluminum. The current of the music signal flows through these conductive strands.

The diaphragm is placed in a powerful magnetic field leading to movement in the folds caused by the Lorentz force. Due to the opposing direction of the current the walls of each single fold work against each other. The air between the folds is squeezed in and out at a ratio of 1:4, compared to the 1:1 ratio of a regular dome tweeter.

This results in higher resolution and dynamics in the tweeter section, along with a very low distortion level, allowing superior sound quality with enhanced detail and clarity.

The SMART-knob

Powering On/Off: Standby Mode
Press and hold the control three seconds in order to put the monitor in Standby mode. The volume will decrease gradually while the LED ring lights up once around the Volume control. Afterwards, the LED on the right end will remain dimly lit and the power consumption is reduced to 1 watt.

Volume
The volume can be adjusted by turning the knob. Depending on the LED mode selected, the volume will be displayed as a dim/ bright circle or as a dim/bright point.

Mute
To put the monitor in Mute Mode, turn the volume control counter clockwise until you reach the minimum level. When the LED on the left end lights up dimly the Mute Mode is activated.

Settings
Press the SMART-knob once to enter the Settings menu. Here you can set different filters as well as the LED ring’s behavior. The LED of the currently active function blinks. Click the different filters above to find out more about them!

High Filter
The High-Shelf Filter helps you adjust frequencies above 3kHz in 0.5dB increments. You may need it in the following situations:

Distance from Speakers: High frequencies weaken as you move further from the speakers. If you sit far from the speakers, boost the high frequencies. If you're close, like in a desktop setup (about 1 meter or 3 feet away), you might need to reduce the high frequencies.

Room Acoustics: In a room with few reflective surfaces ("dead room"), boosting high frequencies can create a more balanced sound. Conversely, in a room with many reflective surfaces, reducing the high frequencies is advisable.

Adjust the High Filter accordingly and achieve the best sound quality based on your listening position.

Mid Filter
The Mid Filter is a bell filter centered at 1kHz. It allows you to boost or cut the midrange by up to +/-3dB in 0.5dB increments. Here's what you should consider:

Frequency Balance: The midrange is crucial for balancing lower and higher mid frequencies. Use the Mid Filter to fine-tune the balance between the fundamental and harmonic frequencies in your music.

Room Acoustics: The acoustics of your room can affect how midrange frequencies are perceived. Sound energy from the monitors may reflect off surfaces like walls, floors, and ceilings, altering the sound. Adjust the Mid Filter to compensate for these reflections and achieve a balanced sound.

The Mid filter is available on SC2070, SC3070, SC4070, SC3010 and SC3012.

Desk Filter
The desk filter allows you to boost or cut you low-mid frequencies in 0.5dB increments:

Narrow-Band EQ: Depending on the model the filter is centered between 160 and 200Hz. When turned down, it reduces the low-mid boost often caused by reflections from mixers and similar surfaces. Decrease the filter gain to lessen this effect.

EQ at 80Hz: When turned up, it enhances the lower frequencies, giving more punch to the sound.

Low Filter
The Low-Shelf Filter allows you to boost or attenuate frequencies below 300Hz in 0.5dB steps. Here's when to use it:

Attenuating Low Frequencies: If your room's acoustics cause a boost in low frequencies (due to room modes or speakers being close to walls), you can reduce them with the Low-Shelf Filter.

Boosting Low Frequencies: If the low frequencies are too weak, you can enhance them to achieve a balanced frequency response.

Adjust the Low-Shelf Filter accordingly to address any issues in the low frequency range caused by your room's acoustics.
